On Tuesday, April 27, 2010, the City Commission of La Feria passed a Proclamation declaring May 8, 2010 as Arbor Day in La Feria. As part of proclaiming Arbor Day in La Feria, the City is offering an opportunity to residents of La Feria and surrounding areas to honor members of their families by planting trees at the La Feria Nature Center and Veterans Memorial Sports Complex on May 8. This is a tremendous opportunity to teach fundamental lessons about stewardship of our natural resources and caring for our environment. There is no more powerful demonstration than helping children plant and care for trees that their own children and grandchildren will enjoy in the future.
The fee is $35 per tree, which includes a permanent marker at the base of the plant honoring your loved one. All orders are due by April 30, 2010. Order Forms may be picked up at La Feria City Hall, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. thru 4:30 p.m. or download a copy here. Complete the form and return to City Hall with payment. If after hours, you may attach a check and place in the water bill drop box. Should you have any questions, you may contact Ben Guerrero at La Feria City Hall (956) 797-2261.
