Five years ago, the City of La Feria began a tradition beautifying the downtown area during Trash Bash Day 2009. At that time, the 4-H Planting Group took on the challenge of beautifying the flower beds around City Hall and downtown.
Through the years, the City’s Trash Bash Day has grown and volunteers have picked up many bags full of trash, and during some of those years have even painted over graffiti. Today, a group of over 200 volunteers met at Scott Sloane Memorial Park Pavilion before dispersing to various locations around town to clean the area of debris. Though a brief shower put a halt to most of the cleaning efforts around 10:30 a.m., everyone gathered back at the Pavilion to enjoy Pizza and drinks.
Thank you La Feria for coming out to make a difference in your community during this our 6th Annual Trash Bash Day, and we hope that you can make it next year. See photos by clicking Read More. Click on the photo itself to make it larger.
