The Lighting of the Tree Celebration went on as planned on November 13, 2014 despite the cold weather.  There were performances by children from Sam Houston Elementary, David G. Sanchez Elementary, C.E. Vail Elementary, and Noemi Dominguez Elementary, as well as the Girl Scout Troop 356, W.B. Green Jr. High and La Feria High School Choirs.  The First Baptist Church Choir presented some special music, as did the W.B. Green Jr. High School Band.  The La Feria High School Ballet Folklorico also performed.  At the end of the night, Santa Claus handed out goody bags to all.  The City appreciates all the performers and all those that participated in making this event a special occasion for the community.  Thank you!
