La Feria voters will choose whether or not to amend the City’s Charter during a special election in November.
During their meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the City Commission approved an ordinance to hold a Charter Amendment Election on November 4 , 2025. The proposed amendment will be listed on the ballot as Proposition A . Voters will have the option to vote “for” or “against” each of the propositions.
The City Charter is like the constitution of the City; it establishes the general powers, duties and administrative structure of the City. The Charter cannot be changed by the City Council, but only by a majority vote of the qualified voters who live within the city limits of the City of La Feria. The City of La Feria Charter was adopted in 1989 and was last amended in 2007.
